Lawsuit
As stated in other places on this site, a class action lawsuit is our last resort. However, we do want to prepare for it. For this, we are searching for people with legal expertise. At the current stage, we are merely looking for advice on how exactly to do this, and what our chances are to win. If the chances are good (this isn't clear yet), and HTC still hasn't fixed or promised to fixed the issues, we will go through with it. At that time, we will probably need to raise funds, as chances are slim we can find somebody to do this for free.
Purpose of the lawsuit
The purpose of the possible lawsuit is not to get your money back. The purpose is to get HTC to fix their underperforming devices. Maybe the lawsuit will force them to do this, but it is more likely that the publicity accompanying the lawsuit will. After all, it's a relatively small thing for them to do, versus a relatively large amount of bad publicity.
